Winter tuff tray - Build a Winter Wonderland
The day after Ollie & Phoebe made play dough snowmen I laid out some loose parts next to the tuff tray containing their snowmen, with an invitation to build them a Winter Wonderland home.
These included some little cardboard snowy houses & trees we had from a previous Christmas, white pom poms, silver bubble wrap, some vase fillers that look like chunks of ice, some Winter figures, a couple of silver mince pie cases and the play dough leftovers.
I also left out some 'magic snow' with instructions to wait for me to make it! This comes in a test tube (which we have since re-used for potion tuff trays) from Home Bargains - you add water to it in a bowl & it expands a LOT. It's a lovely sensory item, great for running their hands through.
They had built their wonderland by the time I came down to make their breakfast the next morning & were very pleased with their work!
We then had great fun making the magic snow & sprinkling it over their snowy town! This was played with a lot over December, with various items added to it by the children.
