Halloween Craft - Hanging Bat Decorations

This was a fun & easy Halloween craft we did last year which then became part of our spooky decor!

I cut out the bat wings in advance from cardboard - cut these out as one piece rather than two separate wings (sorry this was pre-blog days & I didn’t take a photo of the back!) The rest was done with the kids.

Here’s a step by step guide -
1. Hole punch two holes at one end of a cardboard tube to attach the legs
2. Cut out two small triangles of card for ears
3. Paint the body/cardboard tube
4. Paint/colour/decorate the wings & ears
5. Glue or sellotape the wings & ears to the back of the body (the hole-punched holes should be at the front)
6. Stick on googly eyes and draw a mouth - add fangs & eyebrows to make it more spooky!
7. Thread a long pipecleaner through the hole to make the legs
8. Twist a small bit of pipecleaner to the end of each leg to make claws
9. Hook the claws over a shelf or picture frame to hang

Child-friendly spookiness! 🦇😊👍
