Pipes & Water Play
Thank you to Danni Taylor for sharing this idea on the Facebook group Tuff Tray Ideas! I saw these sound pipes for £1 in Home Bargains after seeing her post & couldn't resist setting it up for my children. So cheap & quick to set up and the children are on the second day of loving it (I'm currently typing this in the garden as they both play with it!)
Danni's idea was to fasten the pipes to the tuff tray stand (I used string), put funnels in the top of the pipes, water in the tray and the bottom of the pipes into buckets. As I have a second tuff tray I put this under the pipes rather than buckets but a washing up bowl or large kitchen bowl would work too.
As soon as my kids saw this set up they started creating a story before they'd even touched the water. They put some sea creature toys in the bottom tray - the creatures needed water to survive so they had to start filling up the tray as soon as possible & off they went!
Today we added a different aspect to the play by adding water beads. These whizz down the pipes, they are loving it! I would really recommend this for a sunny day garden activity.
