Teabag Potions

We're getting a new kitchen in a couple of weeks (hooray!) so are started to clear the cupboards. We found a tub of very out-of-date fruit & herbal teabags at the back of the tea cupboard, probably from when I was pregnant with Phoebe & trying to limit my caffeine intake. Rather than throw them out I set them aside for a tuff tray and last weekend Ollie asked for a potions tuff tray setting up so out they came!

I put various jugs & containers out with the teabags, including see-through ones so they could see the colours, plus some spoons & pipettes and warm water.

Now this should have been the easiest clean-up ever, just pouring the water away, but unfortunately the kids both ripped a teabag open to pour out the contents before I had registered what they were doing 😆🙈 so the tray did need a wipe down afterwards but it was still pretty quick to clear up.

This was a definite hit. The children loved seeing what colour the water would turn with each different bag and smelling the peppermint & fruity aromas, as well as discovering what would happen when they mixed different ones together and coming up with all sorts of weird & wonderful names for their potions!
