Aladdin's 3 Wishes Challenge - Family Whiteboard Fun
We went to see the new Disney's Aladdin film this week and all loved it. I especially enjoyed the development of Jasmine's character, her solo performance of new song 'Speechless' was absolutely breathtaking. I left this challenge on our family whiteboard for the children to discover the next day, to see what they would come up with - 'What would your 3 wishes be?'
Phoebe decided she would wish for a seesaw, a new house and to meet Hermione Granger and Ollie's wishes were to make The Lightning Bolts real (his superhero team with his schoolfriends), to meet most of the Harry Potter characters (I'm guessing 'most' is so he doesn't have to meet Professor Umbridge!) and to set his genie free 😍.
We put up a whiteboard in the dining room about 18 months ago. It's directly above the toy kitchen, the idea being that the children can draw on the bottom half and use it with the kitchen in their play - draw cafe signs, menus etc - and then Edd & I can use the top half for reminders, to-do lists, general boring life admin stuff.
It gets used so much, it's a great addition when decorating the house for occasions such as Halloween, birthdays and the start of Advent....even having friends over for a Greatest Showman singalong screening!
The children love using it in their play too, such as when playing schools. Even our mischievous elf on the shelf gets in on the action! 😉
