Summertime Potion

I love finding ways to re-use things. I am trying to stick to buying bars of soap these days to avoid unnecessary plastic but I still have some empty hand soap dispensers that the kids love using in the bath and for potion making.

I had some red roses from my lovely hubby that had gone past their best but the petals were still so soft & inviting that I knew Ollie & Phoebe would love the texture of them. So I set up a 'Summertime-making station' with all the ingredients to make a beautiful Summer. The roses, some as flower heads and some as individual petals, represented summer flowers, soap dispensers with bubbly water in were for the foamy sea, some coloured ice cubes we made in our Ice Cube Scientists post were 'cubes of sunshine', some sand for the beach, some water for mountain lakes and some mouldable soap foam for fluffy white clouds.

They had a bowl, a pipette and a spoon each to create their potion plus tongs to pick up the cubes. They really liked the idea of 'creating Summer' and kept the game going for a good half hour.
