Ice Cream Parlour Tuff tray
This was so much fun but be prepared to be the customer…over….and over… and over… again! You could use any little plastic bowls and spoons but I used some plastic cones and scoops that the children already had in their toy kitchen and then from Home Bargains I bought some cute little cardboard bowls for £1 that cleaned up easily to be re-used and 4 little blackboards for £1 for the parlour shop signs. These are not actual blackboards as I discovered the first time I tried to wipe chalk pens off them (baby brain, no sign of deteriorating 8 years on!!) but you can easily scribble over your writing with black marker pen and then re-use them, I have done this multiple times.
I mixed bowls of shaving foam with various food colourings to make the different ‘flavours’ of ice cream and used some dyed cous cous left from the fairy world to make the sprinkles. A little bowl of water nearby was handy to deposit the ‘finished’ ice cream out of the cone ready for the next one and the children then started a new game of ‘potions’ afterwards with this frankly disgusting looking water! Whatever floats your boats kids!!
